Bluewash!

 Hello Everyone!

Monday we had to head to the Salt Lake airport at noon to grab an elder who got reassigned to our mission. After we grabbed him we headed to Logan and were able to attend a performance by Jenny Oaks Baker, President Oaks daughter. She performed a violin concert and we got to attend with the Scheltinga and a few other missionaries.

On top of that, this week was certainly one to remember. We made it through transfers. Which is always nice. Luckily we didn't have to move too many missionaries, and only about 9 came in from the MTC.

After we got everyone to their new areas, it was time for Elder Black and I to head to our new area. We are now covering the stake that takes in the mission home. So we just moved from South Ogden to North Ogden (Pleasant View to be specific). Without any preparation we packed up our apartment, loaded up, and unpacked at the new place all in 2.5 hours! Right after that we went and worked the area. In the three days we have worked the area we have met two stake presidents, 15 bishops, nine ward mission leaders, and found someone to teach. It is my first time blue washing on my mission. Which is just when Elders take over an area from Sisters. Both stakes are super exciting to have us, and there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of good work happening here. I'm excited to see how it plays out in the next few weeks and months we work here!

This upcoming week we plan on meeting the teaching pool the sisters left us, the rest of the stake and ward leaders. We also get to plan our Christmas zone conference, and have a zone conference in the same week! That should be fun, normally we have a week between the planning and execution.

I hope you all have an amazing week, and are enjoying the Christmas season!

Spiritual Thought:

In some of his earliest writing the apostle Paul advised the early church membership, mostly Jeduo-christian converts, that the wisdom of men does not understand the things of God (1 Cor 2:14). Much, if not all, of our understanding and relationship with the Father and the Son cannot be established on the understanding or philosophies of men. Because after all our testimony of Jesus isn't based on the things we see (Matt 16:17, Rev 19:10). With the Christmas season, it is a great time for us to serve and lift those around us. Often with temporal contributions and gifts. We would all do well to consider ways we can spiritually minister to and serve those around us. By so doing, strengthening our own testimony, and most importantly uplifting and building those around us through the same spirit that gives us testimony and knowledge (D&C 11:21).
