The God Who Weep's
Hello Everybody!
I can't believe that this will be the last email of my mission. These past two weeks have been truly amazing for us. Let me get right to it!
Also, I'm sorry for not sending an email last week! Last P-day we had a multi-zone sports day with three zones here in Ogden. Then I had a "My Plan" meeting for missionaries going home. It is just basically you setting goals and plans for what you will do when you are home. Nothing too exciting hahaha.
Since I've gotten here we have been able to find a handful of friends. About 13 or so. This past week we were able to set a date with three of them! The first was our friend Nixon. Nixon is an unbaptized youth who wasn't too involved in the church. Oddly enough his younger brother was baptized about a year ago. After being "randomly" placed in a seminary class at his high school, Nixon now has expressed interest. We were able to set a baptismal date with Nixon for March 18th. The second date was with our friend Liam. Liam is 9 years old, and friends with a kid named Wyatt who is 8. Wyatt's family has been returning to church, and taking Liam with him. Wyatt shared his desire to be baptized, which eventually rubbed off on Liam. While Wyatt technically isn't a convert, we have been teaching the both of them. And they are preparing for baptism on March 22nd. Our third friend's name is Justin. I've talked a little bit about him in the past. Most recently we taught him the plan of salvation. After teaching it was asked his thoughts, given it is all entirely new. Justin said in effect that it just all made sense and he really liked it. We followed that with an invitation to baptism and he accepted. Justin is preparing for baptism on April 12th. It is sad to think that I won't be able to be here for these special days. But a blessing to know that I was able to play a small role in their conversation.
On Saturday we picked the Elder up who will be my replacement. Good luck Elder Alfrey. The cherry on top of everything was finishing the transfer board! Every transfer board I have worked on I think that it will get easier and easier. That has almost never been the case. They seem to get harder and harder each transfer. With some serious divine intervention we managed to complete the transfer board and get it sent out. Sunday I also had my departing interview with President Scheltinga. It was really weird because it was one of my first interviews I have actually had with him. With how much I'm around him you would've thought I would have had one by now haha.
Well with that all being said I want to thank everyone who has read, and replied to my emails these 24 months. I appreciate everyone who made time to reach out to me and share their experiences, and for their help. I love you and appreciate you all. I look forward to seeing you all very soon. And to those I may not see for a while, best of luck!

Spiritual Thought
In the account of Enoch we have in the book of Moses we read: "And it came to pass that the God of heaven looked upon the residue of the people, and he wept; and Enoch bore record of it, saying: How is it that the heavens weep, and shed forth their tears as the rain upon the mountains? And Enoch said unto the Lord: How is it that thou canst weep, seeing thou art holy, and from all eternity to all eternity?"
This small scriptural story teaches us more about the true character and nature of God than I think any book or published statement ever could. What has been one of the most comforting witnesses I have received on my mission is the continual witness of God's love for us. And not only his love for us all, but even an ability to weep for, and often with us. I bear my witness of the love of God "...which passeth knowledge...". As Elder Kearon said in conference "God is in relentless pursuit of you. He “wants all of His children to choose to return to Him,” and He employs every possible measure to bring you back." I add my testimony to that of Elder Kearons. And pray we might be "rooted and grounded in love" (Eph 3:17), even the love of our Heavenly Father!
