A Not So Snowy Christmas
Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope you have had an amazing week reflecting on the birth and life of the Savior! We had a great week!
We had both zone conferences this week! It was as busy as I've ever been. We had to store half the Christmas packages at the mission office, and the other half at an old apartment nobody is using in the mission. Two Tuesday nights ago Elder Black and I had to take the mission truck and trailer and load them all! That was so much fun, we organized them all by zone which made it really easy unloading them after. Since we had to do so much setup for both zone conferences we set up the night before. One of the nights we stayed with one of the counselors in the mission presidency house, because driving back to Ogden and then back to Logan would've been too much. Both zone conferences were great! Our focus was on the spiritual side of things, which it definitely turned out to be. We did normal instruction in the morning, and then after lunch we made Christmas bags for our stake presidents, and wrote letters to the Savior. Then all the missionaries came to the chapel and we had 100's of pictures of the Savior on the wall, and did a testimony meeting. It was a super cool experience, a good way to spend my last Christmas on the mission!
I started the week off being deathly ill. I have never really been sick on my mission, at least sick enough that I've stayed home over it. Oddly enough I think I have taken enough medicine in the past 48 hours to cure anything I could've had, not to mention all the gatorade and herbal tea I've been drinking. Somehow I'm still sick, but I am on the path to recovery.
Christmas Eve was awesome for us. I love missionary work, but I know how it can be on holidays. It's not everyone's first thought or favorite thing. We reached out to some families with missionaries serving, and we were able to set up about eight appointments for our evening and had an amazing time with them all! It was a super special way to spend the night. The mission office also got some late comer packages for missionaries. We had a late night making sure the missionaries got their Christmas packages before Christmas. Definitely was a highlight doing that!
Hope you all have an amazing Christmas day, and a great New Year's!
Love you all,
Elder Glenn
